BLAIR
Walter “Walt” J., Sr. age 72, of Malvern, PA went home to be with the Lord on October 10, 2023.
Beloved husband of Sharon Blair for 51 years just a few weeks shy of their 52nd wedding anniversary.
Walter grew up in West Chester. He graduated from Henderson High School, attended Ursinus College and then transferred to West Chester University where he studied Science while working as a Lab Technician at Wyeth Laboratory. Upon completion of his bachelors degree, he was promoted to Chemist with focus on Medicinal Pharmaceuticals. His work was his passion. He enjoyed being with his family and coaching his children’s soccer teams.
At retirement, Walt enjoyed volunteering with his church, Free Presbyterian in Malvern, along with Sunrise Assisted Living. His grandchildren were the light of his life and he found immense joy in spending time with them. You could always count on his loud voice, infectious laugh, and competitiveness to win at any board game. His other hobbies included running marathons, fishing and studying the word of God.
Predeceased by his father, John W. Blair.
Survived by his wife, Sharon (nee Brittingham) Blair, his children, Steven Blair (Dawn), Walter “John” Blair, Jr. (Vickie), Debby Wyatt (Tim), Mark Blair, Kelli Wood (Todd), Rebecca Ricciardi (Tim). Also, his mother, Joan (nee Greer) Blair, his 10 grandchildren, Matthew, Emily, Hannah, Tommy, Brieanna, Benjamin, Vanessa, Nathan, Ashlee, and Ava, two great-grandchildren, Blair Grace, and Sampson, his brothers, Mark Blair (Nancy), Gary Blair (Stacy), and many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives & friends are invited to his Visitation Tuesday, October 17th 9:00 AM – 10:45 AM followed by his Funeral Service 11:00 AM at the DAnjolell Memorial Home of Frazer 392 Lancaster Ave., Frazer, PA 19355. Interment Philadelphia Memorial Park.
