Interment Ss. Peter and Paul Cemetery.OBITUARYThomas Skariah lived a full and blessed 76 years on this earth. He was born in 1941 as the fifth child of Mr. and Mrs. Thommen and Mariam in the Vattavelil family, Kizhumuri. After graduating from high school, he went on to pursue his polytechnic diploma in automobile engineering. He then served as an automobile engineer in the Indian military for 16 years. In 1977, he married Chinnamma Skariah and together they had three children: Jins, Justin, and Jessy. In 1986, Thomas Skariah migrated to America to join his family and settle in Delaware County, PA. He then pursued a career with Septa, where he worked for 22 years before retiring in 2017. He lived a humble and prayerful life and was an active member and leader at both St. Gregorios Malankara Orthodox Church, Philadelphia, PA and his parish, St. John’s Indian Orthodox Church, Drexel Hill, PA. He wholeheartedly supported St. John’s church from the beginning and with each significant stage of its development. He actively participated and experienced the sacramental life of the church as he served as a managing committee member and a Board of Trustee member at St. John’ s Indian Orthodox church for several years.Thomas Skariah was a warm hearted person, who loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Thomas Skariah is survived by five brothers and one sister, in addition to his wife, three children, their spouses, and four grandchildren. Thomas Skariah was a kind soul, who was loved by many and his departure will be felt by all those who knew him.
