Thomas Anthony Manning

MANNINGThomas Anthony, age 80, of Hilton Head, South Carolina, formerly of Yardley and Newtown Square, PA on September 14, 2018.Beloved husband of 53 years of Kathleen M. (nee Kavanaugh); devoted father of Sherry Bowman, Thomas Manning and Kathy Manning; loving grandfather of Michael, Katharine, Clare and Caroline Bowman and Lilly, Grace and Aidan Manning. He was predeceased by his twin brother, Frederick Manning, brother, John Manning and sister, Margaret Kelly.Tom was born in Philadelphia to Michael and Margaret (Dempsey) Manning, both originally from Ireland. He graduated from St. Thomas More High School, and received a Bachelor’s degree from LaSalle University and a Master’s degree from Temple University.Tom had an accomplished career in advertising and marketing research, including positions at Christian Schmidt Company, Somerset Importers, and Joseph Seagram Company. A military veteran, he was an officer in the Air National Guard (PA). Tom was also an avid traveler, and held dual citizen status with the Republic of Ireland. Tom resided in Yardley, PA for more than 20 years, before retiring to Hilton Head in 2002. Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation on Saturday, September 29th, 9-9:50 AM at St. Anastasia Church, 3301 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073. Funeral Mass to follow at 10 AM.
