BENNETT1927~2020Rosemarie grew up in a musical family in West Philadelphia, a member of St. Donato’s Parrish, where she graduated from Overbrook High School. During high school she studied operatic voice, training with the same vocal instructor as Mario Lanza. Following high school, she lived in Milan, Italy for three years to continue her formal vocal training as a coloratura soprano with Adelaide Saraceni. Upon returning from Europe she toured the United States, with her future husband, performing in many lead Operatic roles such as Norma (Norma), Violetta (La Traviata), and Mimi (La Bohème). Rosemarie and her husband settled down in Newtown Square and created the Studio of Performing Arts. Rosemarie trained students in voice and piano for over 40 years and coached many of the students performing in local high school and college musical productions in Delaware and Montgomery County. Rosemarie was a past president and passionate member of the Drexel Hill Music Club for over 40 years where she made many life-long friends. She spent much of her time with her extended family, many of which lived in Broomall, Havertown, and Drexel Hill. She was a loving Wife, Mother, Sister, Aunt, dog owner, and Teacher who will be missed by her family, friends, and many former students.Wife of the late Dean A. Sr. and mother of the late Tonia Lyn Bennett.Survived by her son Dean A. Jr. (Joy) and her grandchildren Andrew (Laura) and Anna and her sisters Eleanor (John) Alberti and Gloria (Joseph) Luperini.A Funeral Mass and Burial will be held at a later date.In lieu of flowers, contributions in Rosemarie’s memory to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (www.lls.org) would be appreciated.
