DeLUCA
Ronald Vincent Joseph DeLuca, 69, of Glen Mills, PA, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on September 14, 2023.
Ron was born and raised in South Philadelphia; the proud son of the late Anna (nee Amorosi) and Rolando DeLuca. Ron graduated from Bishop Neumann High School in 1972, earned his Bachelor of Science in Education from Temple University, and attained a Masters Certificate in Applied Project Management from Villanova University. He also received his Project Management Professional (PMP) accreditation.
After teaching for several years within the School District of Philadelphia, Ron followed his passion for trade and became a carpenter. In 1982, Ron started his own construction business and proudly served the Greater Philadelphia area until his death. He was past President of the Home Builders Association of Chester and Delaware Counties and was awarded the position of Director Emeritus. Ron also served on the Board of Directors of the Pennsylvania Builders Association and the National Association of Home Builders, and he was the Vice President of Education and Development for the Project Management Institute, Delaware Valley. Still a teacher at heart, Ron continued to teach throughout his building profession, most recently as an Adjunct Professor at Temple University and the University of Delaware, where he was also the Program Director of Project Management.
Ron will forever be remembered for his love of baseball, surfing, music, food, and family. Most of all, Ron enjoyed sharing summers with family and friends at the Jersey Shore, Poconos, and the Chesapeake Bay. He cherished his time sailing, crabbing, and talking about life with his loved ones. He will be deeply missed at the dinner table, especially on Sundays during Eagles games.
Survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Sheila M. (nee White) De Luca, his proud children, Jennifer A., Ronald R., Joseph A. (Gina Marie), and Chelsea M. DeLuca, and his treasured grandchildren Roland and Marianna. Also, survived by his caring sisters Joanna (Michael) Mulholland and Eileen (Raymond) Wilhelm.
Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate his life at Funeral Mass on Wednesday, September 20, 2023, 9:30AM, at Saint Thomas the Apostle Church, 430 Valleybrook Road, Glen Mills, PA 19342.
