Ronald Bowers, age 86, passed away October 20, 2023. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Lois Bowers on September 23, 2023 and his parents, Stephan and Florene Bowers of Delevan, NY.
Ron grew up in Delevan, NY and graduated from Houghton College in Houghton, NY with a degree in Psychology. He taught math before becoming a high school guidance counselor. At the time of his retirement, he worked for a manufacturing plant. All his life he enjoyed nothing more than fishing and hunting. He was also an accomplished archer, placing 3rd in NYS. He was never happier than when he was on vacation fishing for walleyes on Rice Lake in Ontario, Canada with his extended family every summer for almost 70 years.
As a husband and father, he provided a safe and secure home for his wife and children. He was faithful to provide and protect and was unwaveringly loyal and honest. His daughters never heard him say a negative word about their mother and they felt they could talk to him about anything.
He is survived by his daughters Stephanie (Joel) Sims of Lancaster, PA, and Lynn (Rodman) Haseltine of Brookhaven, PA; grandchildren, Sarah (Shawn) McGonagle, Andrea Sims, Luke (Emma) Sims, Skylar Sims, Briton Haseltine, Lindsay Haseltine, Colton Haseltine and Jackson Haseltine; 8 great grand children; sister and brother-in-law Ruth and Jim Howell of Tunkhannock, PA.
A service will be held at the convenience of the family.
