She loved to crochet blankets for everyone. She enjoyed living in the mountains and feeding the hummingbirds and relaxing on the porch, reading Nora Roberts novels. Rita also loved doing trivia crossword puzzles and coloring. Rita was always sourcing new food ideas to bake like her apple cake, Italian love cake and lemon blueberry cake.Rita Jean Burns was the beloved wife of the late Robert Burns and she was the Proud mother of seven beautiful children whom she taught through example to live life in your own way…Stephen Pettit, Robert Pettit, Edmund Pettit, Martin Pettit, Kenneth Pettit, Mellissa Griffin Lash and David Griffin. She was the grandmother of Ashley Pettit, Courtney Pettit, Johnny Pettit, Sarah Pettit, Taylor Pettit, Kiley Pettit, Craig Pettit, Rory Pettit, Ethan Lash, Christopher Griffin, Dakota Rae Griffin, Hunter Joseph Griffin, Thomas Pettit, Joseph Pettit, Lucas Pettit and great-grandson, Gavin Pettit.Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation on Saturday, Nov. 2nd, 12-12:45 PM at the Danjolell-Barone Memorial Home, 908 S. Providence Road, Wallingford, PA 19086. Funeral Service to follow at 1 PM. Interment private.
