I have known brother Mike Sweitzer for over 45 years. We met at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Greenville South Carolina. My son Mike and Mike Sweitzer were good friends. My son had six children two girls and four boys. Brother Sweitzer jokingly sometimes said he had two boys and four girls that they were matched up where they could marry each other. I read about his obituary and his soul winning ability, through tears of joy. What a wonderful inspiration he was. My sweetest condolences to the wife, the children, and the 10 grandchildren.

Pastor Sweitzer was an anwer to my prayers. My mom came from a Catholic/Pentacostal background. Although she was born again and the Lord miraculously changed her life,it was during a difficult trial in her life she began to doubt her salvation.Pastor Sweitzer came to Trinity Baptist Church just across the street from her back yard. He knocked on her door one day and invited her to church. She began to go to church and ask Pastor many questions, through Pastor Sweitzers patience and knowledge of Gods word my mom was able to recieve assurance of her salvation, and was baptized! Praise the Lord! In Feb. of 1999 my mom went home to be with her saviour. Pastor Sweitzer had an amazing home going service for her, my unsaved family members heard his testimony and my moms and a clear gospel message! I remember going downstairs to the bathroom and seeing a roomful of men and women praying with their bibles in hand ready to win souls! My moms shared that Eddie would bring the youth over to her house for fellowship! So thankful for Pastor Sweitzers ministry, heart for God and his family.

Pastor MikeMy first meeting with Pastor Mike (whom he will always be, even though we are contemporaries and friends) I knew I had met someone quite different. Not a bad different; but a unique different. He was articulate and intelligent; he was passionate about his beliefs, his family, his ministry, and for those of us lucky enough to be included in his circle of friends. He would give you the shirt off his back, but he would not back down from a discussion, no matter how heated it became. He was very solid in what he believed. I never saw any, not one iota of indecision in him. If anyone was sure of their salvation; that was Pastor Mike. He knew that he knew that he knew beyond any shadow of doubt. He was always smiling when talking or preaching about his savior. He knew his sermon topics and expounded on them thoroughly. He was the first pastor that my son ever knew; he was the man that prayed with my husband through the night on our son's first night of life outside of the womb. Our son was not supposed to survive the night, but he did; and he is a fully grown adult. He prayed with us about finances when we had no idea where the next penny would come from; and without fail God provided. He cried with us when those we loved moved away or just went astray. Ministry is not an easy lot; not for sissies. Pastor Mike never ran away but stood through the test of time; he stood firm in his calling of Pastor. Our families grew together for 7 years; our daughter and son loved the Sweitzer kids like family. Even to this day we are in close contact with Rebecca and Jessie. We love this family as if it was an extension of ours. Our hearts ache with the loss that we on earth feel without Pastor Mike. Our hearts rejoice knowing that he has arrived at his forever home and by now has heard his most desired words of our Savior, Well done, my good and faithful servant.. We laugh and cry at memories that only a lifetime of friendship (even if a lot of those years were in diff

Our most heart-felt sympathies and condolences to the Sweitzer Family upon this send-off of our beloved Bro. Mike to join his sweet Savior. He will forever live in our memories as my husband's and my first pastor to guide us as a newly married couple who were fortunate enough to find him and his family at Tabernacle Baptist Church in 1989. Being in the Navy at that time and stationed at the Philadelphia Naval Base, gave us that special bond to him and also served as the means that would allow for Steve Rector to be saved under his pastorate. We are both eternally grateful and very happy that the Lord would have allowed us the honor of having known Bro. Mike Sweitzer.

The biggest challenge to my intellect is not writing several pages of paper on international law/governance, nor quoting articles from the constitutions and/or charters of different nations/organizations. It is writing tributes to the great men and women, who have impacted my life tremendously on a positive note that is toilsome for me. For to adequately and justly pen the life of a giant in relatively few sentences is as testing as a judge deciding the fate of his/her only child in court.

One of those giants is Pastor Mike Sweitzer, the recently deceased former pastor of the Trinity Baptist Church in Secane, PA. Met him at a critical juncture in my life, when things were not yet, for me, as orderly as they are (or seem) now. He became my Preacher, dear friend, and one of my fathers. His smiles were uplifting, his sermons edifying, his words wise and motivating, his friendship marvy, life-changing, and mirthful. He encouraged me, pushed me to go harder, stood with me during my doleful moments, and celebrated my achievements (sometimes even more than I did).

He was such an incredibly glorious man. A humble servant of God. A true patriot. An exemplary leader, father, and husband. Outstandingly gracious, humorous, full of wisdom, and very knowledgeable. Knew him for six years, and he always treated me like his son.

Our conversation a few weeks ago when I returned from the UK didn't seem like the last physical one, but God had a different plan. Thank you for faithfully contending for the faith, sacrificially serving these United States, and always looking out for everyone, including me.

We take solace in the Lord knowing that we'll see you again someday on that beautiful shore, where we'll sing the melodious songs of the blessed. Rest on, sailor! Rest on, Preacher! May God strengthen Mrs. Karen Sweitzer and the entire family, including everyone at Trinity Baptist Church!

Pastor Mike led me to the Lord 5/6/93 . Immediately following after concern for my mom and my grandparents salvation he traveled a Hour and a half away with me to visit my mom and grandparents who lives in the Villas New Jersey where he then led them all to Christ. No matter the need or the time he was always there for me and the best soul-winner I ever knew!! Peter Kratofilow 111

When Mike was in the Navy aboard the Saratoga , a fire on board forced everyone to General Quarters. Fearing we wouldl need to abandon ship and jump overboard, I told Mike , who was next to me, I was a NQS (non qualified swimmer). Mike assured me he would save me if we jumped. Now Mike is in heaven with the One who saved him Whom he loved to tell others about. Glorious Day
