Deirdre, Mia and Michael,

There are no words to express my thoughts. Michael was like a brother and great friend-I so much looked forward to having lunch with him-he always had a way of brightening my day.

I feel as if I have known all of you forever and feel your loss with you. Although time may help heal the pain, Michael's memory and the pleasure he added to your life, as well as mine, will live on forever.

Michael's gregarious personality and zest for life were unsurpassed. His deep-seated kindness always radiated whenever I entered his store. He will most certainly be missed but never forgotten. Michael was a great great friend. His wife was the best one could ever want. Many people have written about him. He was absolutely the closest friend I had. We go back 34 years. He was the finest friend anyone could have. I am just crushed over this loss. Deeply admired him and his family. He will never be replaced on that shop of his. Sweet dreams my friend. A part of me died with you.

Dear Deidre and family, I am so sorry and shocked to hear of Michael's passing. I knew Michael all through junior high and high school. As a matter of fact, he was responsible for turning me into a Rolling Stones fan. He was one of these rare people who's enthusiasm for life and his innate kindness could really just light up your day. I don't have the words to heal, but I know so many people have the same fond memories of his sweetness and humor. He left way too soon. Heartbreaking.

Dear Deirdre, Mia and Michael. It is hard for me to express how sad Amy and I are hearing of Michael's passing. As you all know, he was a real sweetheart, a kind soul. Although I haven't seen him since I moved back to D.C., I did think of him often. Every time Bob Spena went by the shop he would tell me how Michael was doing. I speak to him a couple of months ago when he thought he could beat the tumor and although he was weak, I heard some of the old Michael I knew well in his voice. I'll miss that and him. Our hearts are heavy and our thoughts are with you.
