Maureen Anne Goldman, “Peanut”, passed away peacefully in her home in Media, Pennsylvania on August 20, 2018.She was born Philadelphia on September 24, 1950 and will forever be lovingly remembered by her husband Bruce, son Joshua, daughter Danielle, granddaughter Leona, grandson Marley, son-in-law Ryan, soon to be daughter-in-law Kayla, sisters Diane and Sue and brothers Tommy and Robert. Peanut will also be fondly remembered by her many cherished in-laws, nieces, nephews, extended family and life-long friends. She will be reunited with her beloved Mother, Gertrude and brother, Buddy. She was and continues to be adored by all. Whether you call her Peanut, Wife, Mom, Daughter, Meme, Momma G., Aunt, Cousin or Friend, we can all say that no matter what relation she is to us we would all choose her as a Friend. Her energy was warm and uplifting, her gentle approach to life inspirational, her devotion and selflessness unparalleled, her patience extraordinary, her love eternal. As Bruce’s wife and buddy, she was the anchor to his world through their journey together and a loving, devoted partner in all aspects of life. They shared a lifetime of amazing experiences and accomplishments that will be a part of him forever. She was the heart and soul of her family. She shared an eternal bond with her sisters and brothers that is encased in memories and milestones. Peanut always surrounded herself with the joy, laughter and love of her family. With this she gave her children the most precious gift, “an eternal bond amongst her loved ones”. Her compassion humility and unconditional love made her a Rock Star of a Mom. She naturally made everyone around her feel welcomed, important and loved. When you have this woman as your Mom and Friend it is easy to be a Momma’s Boy. Throughout Josh’s life she has been his loving guide and his ever-present inspiration to be a good person to everyone no matter what. She was his sunshine. She guided Danielle from childhood through motherhood. Always her beacon, standing by for strength, encouragement, comfort and support. She will always be like her mother. She would do absolutely anything for her Josh and Danielle, whether it was the 40 years of loving back scratches and hugs for Josh or bringing the joy of music back onto Danielle’s life with her gift of a ukulele. Josh and Danielle have been blessed with so much of Mom’s character, and the promise to carry this over to future generations, starting with Leona and Marley. Meme’s true passion and love over the last 12 years has been spending time with her adored grandchildren, whether it be at home during the holidays or on trips to Gettysburg, Disney, South Florida, Maryland, Nashville or Ocean City. For over 10 years she loved her guard dog, travel buddy and sidekick, Houdini. He kept her on her toes. Peanut was a triple word, triple letter, Q-using Scrabble lover who was not afraid to use some choice words to win the game. Her hugs, her laugh, her smile, her back scratches and haircuts, her talks and texts, her character, her everything is why she will forever be engraved in our memories and why we all love her to the moon and back. The Ceremony celebrating Peanut’s Life will begin at 6:00 pm on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at the Fairmount Water Works adjacent to the Philadelphia Art Museum. Following the ceremony we will celebrate Peanut with music, food, drinks and most importantly the love from family and friends. Please wear bright and cheerful colors and be a part of celebrating our sunshine, Peanut. In the loving words of Peanut, “Come celebrate or you can kiss my ass!”Parking at the Water Works will be available for the earlier arriving guests and we have a block of discounted hotel rooms available at the Ritz-Carlton, Philadelphia and the Aloft Philadelphia Downtown for Thursday and Friday night. In lieu of flowers you may contribute to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network and join our team in body or in spirit for the 2018 Purple Stride walk on September 29, 2018 in Nashville, Tennessee.Donations can be made to Team Peanut by visiting: http://support.pancan.org/site/TR/PurpleStride
