Truitt1939~2021Mary Truitt (nee Connaire) passed away on December 16, 2021, surrounded by family.Mary was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert A. Truitt, son Robert J. Truitt and dear brother Jack Connaire. Survived by her loving son, Daniel Truitt (Joyce) and grandchildren Kevin, Krista, Kerri and Elliott as well as her great-grandson Ryan. Also survived by her dog, Max.Mary, or as most of you know her as Masie or Mamie, was a loyal, caring, kind, funny and strong-witted woman. She was one of those people who, once you met her, you never forgot her. She enjoyed reading the Daily Times each morning with a cup of coffee, doing the newspaper word find, watching the news and playing ball with her dog, Max. Mary enjoyed the little things in life. Time spent with family, time spent with her dog, weekend shore trips, trips to Acme, Little House on the Prairie, Game Show Network, Chick-fil-a sandwiches, Entenmanns Cinnamon Swirl for dessert, and getting her hair done. Mary’s favorite household chore was doing the laundry. You never had to worry about having a clean shirt or pair of pants to wear, they were washed, folded and put away before we were done work or school. Her favorite holiday was St. Patrick’s Day, she would make the best Irish Scone, one plain and one raisin, because Danny was the only one who liked raisin. She was a built-in baby sitter for her three grand-children and great grandson and because of this, became more than a grandmother, but a best friend. Her love for her family was indescribable. When asked, she would say her greatest joys in life were her husband, children, grandchildren, and her daughter-in-law, that is who she was happiest with. She never missed a birthday, holiday, graduation, anniversary, or major life event, she had cards for every occasion. She was your biggest fan. Those who survive her know how much she loved them, as she would say it often. Although we are saddened from her passing, we know she is reunited with her loving husband and son, whom she spoke of frequently and missed dearly.
