OBITUARYLinda Houldin, age 68, longtime resident of Newtown Square.Linda was born October 17, 1948 to Audrey and John Mattia. She is a graduate of Marple Newtown High School. Linda married John Houldin on August 12, 1967. They raised a daughter, Kimberly A. Cichanowsky (Marko) and a son, John M. She is the adoring grandmother of Mark, Kristina, Kyle and Michael. She is also survived by her sister, Susan Tait (Ronald).Everyone knows how much Linda loved her community by how much time she dedicated to volunteering and the numerous committees that she participated in. Education and Child Advocacy was a strong interest of hers. This led Linda to many years as a member of the Marple Newtown School Board. Linda also had a passion for political involvement. Linda’s enthusiasmshined while working as the Executive Director of the Delaware County Historical Society. Linda enjoyed every moment that she could educate the youth about our county’s history.Most importantly, Linda was so grateful to be one of the founding members of the Delaware County Veterans Memorial located in Newtown Square on West Chester Pike. This truly was her legacy. She cherished the service of every soldier and it was her mission to honor them along with their beloved families.Linda was the angel of the family. She was happiest whenever she spent time with family and spoiling her grandchildren was her delight. The weekends were about family fun. Linda and John enjoyed Sunday breakfast out, going to play cards with her sister, Sue and brother-in-law, Ron, getting her nails done with her granddaughter, playing games and watching movies with her grandsons, shopping with her friends and of course, entertaining was her speciality.Linda’s dynamic personality lit up a room. Linda was one of the kindness, most generous and loving people to know. She blessed her family, friends and community with an open heart, contagious smile and joyous personality.Love is sent to Linda by her family and friends. She will forever be our Angel in Heaven.
