ORSINI 1934-2016Leonard J., age 81, of Boca Raton, FL, formerly of Media, PA on July 2, 2016.Brother of the late Gloria DiMenna.Len was born in South Philadelphia on July 21, 1934. He grew up there with his brother, John, and his sisters Marie, Gloria, Dolores, and Betty. As a young teenager, Len quickly pursued his passion for cars, doing auto body repair work for his Uncle John. He followed that dream to the Philadelphia suburbs, where he became the Service Manager for Raymond P. Scott’s car dealership on the Main Line. After eight years, Len opened his own business, Orsini’s Collision Service, in August 1971. Joe Orsini, his eldest son, began working in the business part-time in 1972, while in high school. Lenny Orsini, his 2nd eldest son, began working full-time in 1975 . Together, the three of them built a successful business that thrives to this day. As Len’s career blossomed, so did his family. He married Victoria nee Salamone, with whom he had five children: Joe and Lenny, as well as Pati, Larry, and Stephanie. In 1975, Len married Belle nee Guanti, with whom he had two more children, John and Cindi. He spent summers on the Jersey Shore and Chesapeake Bay, boating, fishing, and crabbing with his family and friends. In 1990, Len sold the auto body business to Joe and Lenny, and moved with Belle, John and Cindi to Boca Raton, Florida. In Boca, Len flourished in his hard-earned retirement, filling his days with golf, boating, and taking care of his exquisite and gorgeously landscaped lawn. When John and Cindi left for college, and Len and Belle were (finally!) empty nesters, they traveled often on cruises in Europe and the Caribbean, and up and down the East coast visiting children, grandchildren, and eventually great-grandchildren in Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, and Massachusetts.Just weeks ago, Belle gave Len a gift that, at 81 years young, he had finally decided he was responsible enough to take care of: his very own puppy! Sweet and mischievous Buffy, a tan Cockapoo, kept Len good company during his last days.Survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Isabella (nee Guanti) and his loving children: Joseph, Leonard (Shinning), Patricia Beck, Lawrence (Elizabeth), Stephanie Orsini, John (Julie Ann), and Cynthia Wolfe (Daniel). He was the adoring grandfather to 15 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; also survived by his brother, John, and his sisters, Marie Bishop, Dolores Reed and Betty Severino.Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing on Thursday Evening, 7-9 PM and Friday morning, 8:30-9:30 AM at the D’Anjolell Memorial Home of Broomall, 2811 West Chester Pike Broomall, PA 19008.
