Katherine M. Fisher, 89, residing with her son and daughter-in-law in Exeter, PA and previously a long time resident of Broomall, PA passed away quietly in her sleep on July 23, at the Berkshire Commons in Exeter, Pa. She was the wife of the late Warren Fisher and daughter of the late Margaret Doyle-Roman and Stanley Roman. Born in Philadelphia, Katherine was one of nine brothers and sisters. She first worked as a welder for the Budd Company shortly after the start of World War II. After the war, Katherine was employed by the Philadelphia Transit Company (present day SEPTA) for many years. Katherine, along with her late husband moved to the Philadelphia suburbs in the 1950’s and had two children and one granddaughter. Katherine had a long career with Sears & Roebuck starting out as a sales associate in the St. David’s store until its closing and retiring from Sears Human Resources Regional Dept. in King of Prussia. Katherine returned to work shortly after her retirement as a part-time sales associate for Sears at the Granite Run Mall. Katherine was a member of St. Anastasia Church for over 50 years and a member of the Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary in Newtown Square. Katherine was the longest standing member of the St. Anastasia Church Choir. She was also a member of the Delaware County Community Chorus. In the early years of her marriage, Katherine and her husband became roller skating dance champions at the Circus Garden in Philadelphia. In her middle years, Katherine was very active in Mid-Atlantic AAU Swimming while her children were competing. In her senior years, Katherine remained active, participating in line dancing at the Havertown Senior Center. Katherine as best known and loved for her crocheting of beautiful gifts for her family and friends at every holiday throughout the year. Katherine is survived by her son, Warren J. Fisher and daughter-in-law, Constance D. Fisher of Exeter; daughter, Patricia K. Fisher-Brewer and son-in-law, Joseph Brewer of Port Orange, FL; granddaughter, Danette C. Fisher and fiancé, Mark Fitzpatrick of Sicklerville, NJ, and sisters, Virginia Doyle, Joan Jones and Mary Roman of Philadelphia. Relatives and friends are invited to her Viewing: Monday, July 30, at 10 AM at St. Anastasia Church, 3301 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073, followed by a Mass at 11 AM. Burial: Immediately following Mass at Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Ambler, PA
