Pezzotti1930~2021Joseph D. “Joe” on Feb. 10, 2021 of Broomall for 63 yrs.Joe was a dedicated family man with deep roots in the Philadelphia area, he was the son of Italian immigrants and grew-up in the Paoli area in a large family of two sisters (Mary and Jean) and two brothers (Paul and Frank). He was a 1950 graduate of Conestoga High School where he played football and served as the student council president his senior year.Shortly after graduating high school, Joe was drafted by the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War conflict, he proudly served his country for 6 years. When his military service was complete, Joe started his 43-year career with the Foote Mineral Company located in Exton, PA, and met his beloved wife Antionette at the Chez Vous dance club in Upper Darby, PA, they married shortly after meeting in 1955 and eventually settled in Broomall, PA, where they lived for 63 years.Joe loved his Broomall home and was known throughout the neighborhood for his meticulous lawn and landscaping. His love of gardening developed during his youth where he worked in his father’s landscaping business, he was always ready to tell old family stories about his brothers, the hard landscaping work he did as a young man, and his ability to drive a truck at 13 years of age. Joe was blessed with 2 children and 6 grandchildren that he loved dearly. In his retirement years he enjoyed taking his grandkids to Philadelphia on day trips, to the Rose Tree Woods Swim Club, or to the local tennis courts where he was an avid tennis player well into his late seventies.Joe with his engaging personality was quick to make friends wherever he went, he was a kind and wonderful friend, father, and “PopPop”, he will be greatly missed by all that knew him. Joe was also a charitable man that supported many local charities, Predeceased by his sister Mary CastoraniSurvived by his beloved wife of 65 years Antoinette “Annette” (nee Pitassi), his son James and his daughter Lisa Mackley, his 6 Grandchildren Jared and Jenna Mackley and Michelle (Chris), Anthony, Nicholas, Dominic Pezzotti and their mother Kelly and his brothers Paul and Frank and his sister Jean Bennett.A private funeral Mass at St. Anastasia Church will be held with Int. SS. Peter & Paul Cemeteryin lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be sent to the Wounded Warrior Project, woundedwarriorproject.org would be appreciated.
