John W. McMullen “Jack”, 77 of Aston, passed away peacefully at home on February 25, 2023
with his family by his side. His battle with cancer & deteriorating health over the past several months only confirmed his lifetime of courage & Stoicism.
Jack was born March 14, 1945, to the late Curt & Ethel McMullen. Following his graduation from ChiChester High School in 1964, Jack served two years as a Marksman in the Army Reserves. After serving in the reserves Jack worked as an electrician at DELCORA before retiring in 2012.
He married the love of his life Margaret “Midge” in 1971. Together, they raised two children and as a family they would often vacation in Ocean City, Maryland. They were happily married for 49 years before Midge passed away in May 2020.
It was not uncommon to see Jack at the local diner, doughnut shop, or spending some time in the casino. Although, what he truly enjoyed was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Jack was often a man of few words, yet his unmistakable love and support was always felt by his actions.
Jack was the loving father of John (Tanya)McMullen, Brian (Cheryl) McMullen. Also survived by his cherished grandchildren Reilly, Noah, Isabella, Logan, Kennedy, Rose, Kyle. His sister Curtie (Jerry) Johnson.
Jack’s wishes were carried out; to be cremated and to once again be united with Midge, forever.
To honor the memory of both Jack and Midge, a Celebration of Life will be held in the Spring of 2023. We invite anyone who knows them to attend and help us remember their wonderful lives. Further details to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Jack’s name can be made to Main Line Hospice, whose staff provided excellent care to ensure his final days were spent at home comfortably. https://www.mainlinehealth.org/specialties/homecare-hospice
