Trickett on July 17, 1930. After graduating from Haverford High School in 1948 where he played football and basketball he attended one year of college preparatory at Episcopal Academy, graduating in 1949. While attending Dickinson College he met his first wife Margaret Steele (Peggy). After graduation in 1953 they were married. John was Naval ROTC in college and was accepted into Officer’s Candidate School graduating with the rank of Lt.JG. After serving in the U.S. Navy, John joined his father’s business, Llanerch Lumber and Millwork working alongside his father and brother. He continued in the lumber business until he was forced to retire in 2012 due to Alzheimer’s disease. John lost his first wife Peggy after a long courageous battle with cancer in 1977. He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years Phyllis (nee McNutt), Lynn T. Belber (Rick), John S. (Donna), Anne Trickett Marcelli and Adam Diamont (Lisa), nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren, his brother Joseph W. and sister-in-law, Joan H. Trickett, and his precious dog, Scraps. John will be remembered for his many years of membership at his beloved Aronimink Golf Club where he served on many committees and as president three different times over three decades. He enjoyed his time spent on the Board of Delaware County Memorial Hospital and Crozer Keystone where he served as 1st Chair of the Foundation, retiring only when Alzheimer’s progressed but not diminishing the numerous fund raising events to their benefit that he started. John served as Accounting Warden and on the Vesty at Christ Church, Ithan for many years. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude for the many friends, professionals and caregivers who supported John and the family during his illness. Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing Wed. evening 6-9 PM at The D’Anjolell Memorial Home of Broomall 2811 West Chester Pike, Broomall, PA 19008 and Thursday morning 10:00-10:45 AM at St. David’s Episcopal Church 763 S. Valley Forge Rd., Wayne, PA 19087 followed by his Memorial Service at 11:00 AM. Interment Private. In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to to Christ Church Ithan 536 Conestoga Rd. Villanova, PA 19085 or The Alzheimer’s Association 399 Market St., Suite 102, Phila., PA 19106.
