





















































McNulty, Esq.On August 20, 2021, John F. McNulty Esq., of Newtown Square (previously Bryn Mawr) passed away at the age of 81. He was the son of John P. and Esther Jane McNulty, deceased, brother of Eileen Trojan and Kathleen Brescia, deceased, and of surviving sisters Alice Romanelli and Mary Anne Simpson. John was the devoted husband of Rosemary (nee Sammartino) McNulty for 57 years and father of Christine McLean (Paul), David McNulty (Jackie), Laura Patarcity (Randy) and Daniel McNulty (Kimberly), and grandfather of Kevin and Sean McLean, Erin and Megan McNulty, Ryan, Evan and Elena Patarcity and Kyle and Aidan McNulty.John was raised in Sharon Hill PA, attended Msgr. Bonner H.S., then went on to Drexel University for a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and for a J. D. from the George Washington University Law School.During law school he worked as a Patent Examiner for the U.S. Patent Office, then for a Washington D.C. patent firm before returning to Philadelphia to the firm of Paul and Paul for the next 48 years, many of them as managing partner. In one notable case he secured a record-setting judgement which survived three appeals.In addition to his professional accomplishments, John enjoyed contributing to his community in many ways, including as president and director of the St. Thomas More Society of Catholic Lawyers of Philadelphia. Additional volunteer roles included president of the parish council of St. Thomas of Villanova, local Judge of Elections, President of the Radnor Township School Board, and positions on various other Radnor Township Boards. He also served as a moot court judge at Villanova Law School.John and Rosemary met at a dance during college and throughout their marriage enjoyed ballroom dancing and the arts, especially live theater and music, including their annual fall theater weekend in Manhattan. They travelled to over 50 countries and 6 Continents, and especially enjoyed ski trips and summer vacations to the Outer Banks with their children and their families.John enjoyed a wide range of athletic pursuits, including sailing, water skiing, hang gliding, and roller blading. He was an avid snow skier for over 40 years, favoring Colorado and Vermont. In his 60’s and 70’s he ran multiple marathons and the Broad Street Run, often with some of his children and grandchildren. John’s greatest joy was time spent with his family. Friends and relatives are invited to a celebration of John’s life. A viewing will be held Thursday Evening August 26th; 6:00-8:00 p.m. at The D’Anjolell Memorial Home of Broomall 2811 West Chester Pike 19008. Funeral Mass Friday Morning August 27th 10:00 a.m. at St. Thomas of Villanova Church 800 E. Lancaster Ave., Villanova, PA 19085 – On the Campus of Villanova University.
