Many musical memories,I went to Country music 101 with Duke Snow.He knew 100's of songs and remembered the lyrics to all of em.You had to be on your toes to play music in the Driftwoods. He would pull out an obscure Chet Atkins instrumental and then a Ray Price standard and he knes almost all the requests.I was amazed althould I did fall asleep standing up playing a few times at Nenos....Never far from my thoughts ever....

Duke Snow was more than just my father in law, he was like a second father to me. In the 25 years I knew him he taught me about all the wonderful birds of this earth,he shared his beautiful artwork with me and my wife Bonnie, and when we visited Duke and Phyllis's house he always took out one of his guitars and sang us the some of the greatest (and sometimes funny) songs. His jokes and stories are legendary, and his guitar pickin' was absolutely out of this world ! I always felt honored when he played for me, and I'll be forever amazed how easy he made it look. Peaceful, loving, caring, talented, and that great smile he had . That's how I will always remember my friend Duke Snow.... Rest Easy

I had the pleasure of enjoying many evenings listening to Duke and his band back in the '70's. I am also fortunate to have been gifted with two of his paintings. You won't remember me, Phyllis, but I'll always remember you and Duke and your enduring love for one another.

What a beautifully written story of a man I'm proud to call my Uncle , even if it's only by name. Kelly's FB post was also so very touching and true. He was such a unique man, you don't find such humbleness or selflessness people in this world. We've lost such an inspirational mentor, teacher, counselor, conscientious and TRUE man. My heart aches for myself even though I know we weren't close (in proximity),everyone busy with their lives. But it also aches for those he loved dearly. You are like family to me. Please yell me if there's anything I can do. Love to all!!!!
