Watch Video TributeBOND1950~2019Jeffrey J. Bond was suddenly called home to the Lord on October 24, 2019. Jeff’s core beliefs were his faith, family and friends. His circle of life revolved around caring for and giving back to others. After graduating from Mt. St. Mary’s in Emmitsburg, Md., Jeff entered St. Charles Borromeo Seminary. He spent 14 years as a diocesan priest serving the families of St. Anne’s and St. Francis de Sales. He also taught at several Catholic area high schools. The next chapter of Jeff’s life was the most special and dear to his heart. He married his soulmate, Mary Ann Finley. Soon after, Jeff and Mary Ann traveled to Russia to adopt the joy of their lives; their cherished son, Roman. The charity, Help Us Adopt, was one of their most important missions, where they dedicated much of their time and resources to others traveling the road of adoption. This was their opportunity to give back for how blessed they felt to have Roman.Jeff continued in the academic field as Director of the summer camp at the Valley Forge Military Academy, a program which he transformed into a thriving enterprise. He then became Director of Elijah Shirley House for the Salvation Army in Philadelphia. He moved on to become the Director at Project Home in Philadelphia. Continuing in this vein of serving others, Jeff founded Caring Hearts in 2013 in Wayne PA. Caring Hearts provided home health care to the elderly, something that had special significance after caring for his own parents. In 2017, Jeff and Mary Ann embarked on enjoying their golden years together. Their adventures consisted of extensive travel, winters in Florida, art classes, bicycle trips, relishing their time with family and friends and giving back to their community. Jeff’s most recent endeavor was authoring a biography of a remarkable woman with a heartbreaking story of hardships, faith and survival.Of all of Jeff’s accomplishments in his life… Jeff’s greatest joy was his son Roman. Jeff’s wonderful spirit and servant leadership and focus on others will live on in the values he mentored in his son. Contributions in Jeff’s memory may be given to the Jeffrey J. Bond Scholarship Fund, LaSalle College High School, 8605 West Cheltenham Avenue, Wyndmoor, PA 19038.
