CHANG
Howard, age 89, on August 20, 2023, of Overbrook, PA.
Chong Sok Chang “Howie” served in the Korean war fighting alongside his American counterparts gaining freedom from communism for his country. He sustained many injuries during this time, yet advanced forward to make a life for his family. He later immigrated to the United States where he became a proud US citizen. His love of his family and his new country was followed by his passion for hunting, fishing, and gardening. He was often sought after for his knowledge in herbal medicines and being a father figure to many. Howard was known by many names including the “Herbal Doc,” “Pops,” and “Poppa Chang” but the one he cherished the most was simply “Appa” meaning father informally in Korean or Misky’s version “Op.”
Predeceased by wife, Eun Ok (nee Sul) Chang, his parents, and his siblings.
Survived by his children, Misky, Paul (Candy), and Ed (Jennifer), and his former wife, Young Jung. Along with his extended family, nieces, nephews, and many loving friends.
