Harry M. Walsh “Mickey”, age 80 on March 13, 2013 of Broomall formerly of West Phila. Born and raised in West Philadelphia, Mickey was a lifeguard in Ocean City, NJ as a teen and a diver in the US Naval Reserves as a young adult and never lost his love for the sea. He spent 40 years running Walsh’s Classic Tavern in University City until it closed in 1996. He served as a Democratic Ward Leader there in the 1960’s. He was the Founder and first President and Coach of the Haverford Hawks Youth Ice Hockey program when the Skatium opened in Havertown. He was also a past President and long time member of Division 65 of the Ancient Order of Hibernians. He loved a “ceile” with his old friends and spending time on the beach with his children and grandchildren. Survived by his wife of 52 years Catherine P. “Pat” (nee Skivo), his children Harry M. (Suzanne), Joseph P. (Gigi), David A. (Tracy) and Kate P. Walsh-Smith (Wayne Smith), his grandchildren Tyler, Lindsey, Ian and Madison and his brother James Walsh (Lorraine). Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing Mon. Evening 7-9 P.M. and Tues. Morning 9:30-10:30 A.M. at the D’ANJOLELL MEMORIAL HOME OF BROOMALL, 2811 West Chester Pike Broomall, PA 19008.
