Eleanor Arguto, age 92 of Aston, formerly Morton, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Aug. 21, 2023.
Eleanor was born in Murtosa, Portugal on March 9, 1931. She came to the United States with her family as a young girl and settled in South Philadelphia, where she lived until she married in 1951. Throughout her life in Delco, she enjoyed the company of her extended family and close neighborhood friends, the Martellis, Anita Everly, her niece, and family, Dot and Larry Rubincan, and Kathy Houpt. For many years, she and her family enjoyed their home in Seaside Heights, NJ and looked forward to spending time at the beach in the summer. She loved being a mother, grandmother and great grandmother, knitting colorful baby blankets, cooking big Italian dinners, especially during the Christmas holidays, enjoying her family and their time together. Her’s was known as ‘the greatest generation’. It was also a generation that valued family, friends and love. Rest in peace mom, we love you.
She was the daughter of the late Joseph and Ana Matos and wife of the late William Arguto, Sr. Loving mother of Diana (Gary) Robinson, William (Stephanie Rogers) Arguto. Also survived by her grandchildren, Mark (Kim) Robinson, Christopher Robinson and Alyssa (Kenneth) Lynch and her great grandchildren, Adam Robinson, Emma Robinson, Alexis Robinson, Samantha Robinson, Melayna Robinson, and Nolan Robinson.
Family & Friends are invited to her viewing & celebration of life, Thursday August 31, 10 am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 2130 Franklin Ave in Morton, PA. Funeral mass will be held at 11 am. Interment will be at Holy Cross cemetery, Yeadon, PA.
