Dorothy J. Van Sickle 06/09/1928 – 11/26/2021Dorothy J. Van Sickle (nee Riggs), age 93 of Wayne, PA, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2021.She was the wife of the late Robert L. Van Sickle. Dorothy met her future husband on a blind date in high school; they married on June 16, 1946 in their hometown of Emporia, Kansas, a union that would last nearly 65 years. Dorothy was predeceased by her parents, Hervey and Edna (nee Day) Riggs, and a brother, Delmar Riggs. She is survived by her daughter, Carol Ann Seeley (Larry) and her son, Randall L. Van Sickle, as well as two granddaughters, Rebecca Radintiz (Ted), and Barbara Berg (Jeremie); and five great-grandchildren, Callie, Carter and Kenzie Radintz, Cece and Lachie Mitchell.Dorothy has left her mark on the generations to come by the dozens of beautiful paintings she created throughout the later years of her life, and the myriad of handmade quilts she loved to create. She loved to garden as well. Additionally, she became an active volunteer at the Coatesville Veterans Hospital during the Vietnam War. Services will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2021, at 10:00am at the Valley Forge Memorial Gardens, for a graveside service, located at 352 S. Gulph Road, King of Prussia, PA 19406.
