MY daughter Erica had Mrs. Algeo when she was in second grade. I had the pleasure of volunteering in Lori's class and was so impressed with her ability to treat each of her students as if they were the most important individuals in her life - a truly unique quality. Erica made her First Holy Communion in the Spring, 2002 and invited Lori. We all experience milestones in life and it is the pictures that truly capture these moments. We have a photo of Lori with Erica and Dana and this picture has remained with me these past 20 years. Lori is smiling and the girls were touched that their second grade teacher made it a point to be a part of their special day. Although I haven't seen Lori since Erica had her, she has made a tremendous impression on me, not only as an incredible teacher but, more importantly, as a woman who went out of her way to make her students feel special, such as being present on one of the most important days of their lives. If her personality was anything like her daughter's which she seemed to clone in looks then she must have been amazing person because Kate is a wonderful human being and a joy to work with/chat with. Kate & family I am so sorry for your heartache and pray that her happy memories shine the brightest for you

Best memories are sitting in the back here in Bethany drinking, dancing & laughing. Lori had the best Motown soundtrack we ever heard and we'll never be able to listen to "Aint no mountain high enough" again without picturing her singing into a fake mike and dancing. Another great memory is just watching Lori & Bill sitting on their Adirondack chairs watching the pond. We feel so blessed to have them right next door and we will miss her terribly.

We are so very sorry for your loss. Lots of prayers and love coming from down South. May this poem from Harkins comfort you. You can shed tears that she is gone, Or you can smile because she lived. You can close your eyes and pray that she will come back, Or you can open your eyes and see all that she has left. Your heart can be empty because you cant see her, Or you can be full of the love that she shared. You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday, Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday. You can remember her and only that she is gone, Or you can cherish her memory and let it live on. You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back, Or you can do what she would want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on.
Peace of mind is a call away. We’re here when you need us most.

So sorry to hear of Lori’s passing. She was amazing teacher and I remember her fondly when my son attended Concord elementary. I specifically remember her dedication during the pandemic to students. She always had a calm, soothing voice, and brought a sense of ease during a very trying time. I am sure she will be missed by many ❤️
