I have had the pleasure of knowing/loving Tinnie since 1972, when she and I gave birth to our sons, David and Skipper, our two sons who became best friends for the next 15 years???!!! I always respected/adored Tinnie for her spunk!!! She was always fun! I had the pleasure of working with her and will never forget how when she came to work, all the typists would stop typing and all would be quiet as everyone would listen to the fun fun stories of Tinnie’s

Knowing the Gilbert family since I was in Kindergarten, I have wonderful, fond memories of spending time just down the road from NPE at their place to hang with Kathy. I would sit on the couch in the basement or roll on the floor with Tripod while watching a movie with Kathy, likely a few other friends, and chatting with her mom. Or we would all hang on the back deck or romp around in the back yard trying to keep the gate closed so the dogs wouldn’t get out —Tinnie was always very cool (to a young kid and later dumb teenager) and made me feel welcome (even when poking around in the fridge) and it never felt uncool to be hanging with my friend and her mom. I can still imagine her voice—to me, it always sounded like she was smiling when she spoke to me, even when triaging a phone call to Kathy… My love to the Gilbert family and know that I’m giving you all a big, tight virtual hug.

One of my best friend’s Mother is suddenly gone. I’m so grateful for the time I got to spend with Tinnie. Such a graceful woman. She created a warm and loving family. My heart breaks for each of them. If you were to ask each of the children who they believed was her favorite you would only get one answer, “Well, she always said that she loved us all the same, but the truth be told, I know I was her favorite”. I believe this to be the mark of a great Mother. But to me, Tinnie was a friend. She possessed the unique ability to captivate you with her stories. You knew you struck gold when you got to sit next to her at the dinner table. I will love and miss her always.

The matriarch of the warm and loving Gilbert family will be missed. Always kind to all the annoying neighbor kids who spent much time there. Such nice memories of a loving soul.
