She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Moyer in 1995. They shared 13 years of marriage together. Carol was born on November 24, 1941, at University Hospital in Philadelphia to Gladys and Benjamin Ryan, the first of 4 daughters. She grew up in Southwest Philadelphia and graduated from John Bartram High on January 21, 1960. She was engaged to Robert Howard III the same day she graduated. They were married later that year in September and were together for ten years. They had two beautiful children, Carol Lynn & Bobby. Carol enjoyed raising her children at the home she and Bob purchased together on Taylor Drive in Folcroft. In 1972, Carol went to work at The Bulletin in classified sales. She continued her education taking classes at Delaware County Community College and was later promoted to classified sales manager, a position she held until The Bulletin closed its doors in 1982. Shortly after, she married Joseph Moyer on June 26, 1982. Carol then took her newspaper experience to the Gloucester County Times until she retired in 1995. She continued to work part-time for several years for Liheap Energy Assistance and later on at Maris Grove.Before Joe passed away, they enjoyed camping and boating with their family at River Beach in Mays Landing, NJ. Carol continued to make many memories there with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandson for over 30 years. Carol had many hobbies and interests. She enjoyed making ceramics, scrapbooking, card making and many other crafts. She had a passion for plants and pets including birds, dogs, cats, turtles, fish, and an iguana. For almost 25 years, Carol was an active member of Olivet Presbyterian Church in Prospect Park, PA. She served many leadership roles, including clerk of session, finance chair, memorial fund chairperson and outreach mission coordinator. She frequently assisted with children’s church and was a craft instructor at Vacation Bible School for many years. Carol was also active in bible studies, prayer groups and women’s ministries. She cherished the many friendships she formed during her time there.She was deeply devoted to her family and a faithful friend to many.Carol is survived by her children, Carol Lynn and Bob (Karen), grandchildren, Jessica, Aaron, Kayla (Lenny) and Jake, her great-grandson Damon, her sisters, Elaine, Linda (Albert), Susan (the late Charles), many nieces, nephews and her cat Cali. She is predeceased by her mother Gladys Myers who passed in 1992.Relatives and friends are invited to a Visitation on Saturday, March 7th, 2020, from 9:00 -11:00 AM with Celebration of Life to follow at 11 AM at the Danjolell-Barone Memorial Home of Wallingford, 908 S. Providence Road, Wallingford, PA 19086.
