Billie Barton Buckwalter, Sr. age 56 of Media, PA passed away peacefully on December 14, 2021. Billie grew up in Chester Country and attended Delaware County Christian school from K-12th grade.He was an avid soccer player, choir singer, and state qualifying wrestler. As he was an identical twin, him and his brother, Jamie, enjoyed tricking everyone as you could truly not tell them apart. Most importantly, Billie loved Jesus and learned about his love for him at a very young age.Billie went on to WCU which he attended for two years. He left WCU to take a job in the Environmental Service industry with his brother-in-law, Jeff. He loved his time in the Industry, making new friends and family along the way.Billie and his wife, Jean, were high school sweethearts who reunited a few years after college. They married in 1991, and just celebrated 30 years of unconditional love in May. They had their only child, Billie Jr., in December of 1994. Beyond ecstatic for the birth of his son, Billie began planning all the father-son activities for the many years to come.Billie signed his son up for little league baseball when Billie Jr. was 6 yrs. old. They spent many amazing years at AMLL where Billie became known as Coach Buck. His larger than life smile and giant welcoming hugs touched so many young players and families. We now call many of them our family.One of Billie’s other passions was golf. He enjoyed playing with family, friends, co-workers and ultimately with his son, Billie Jr. He was so excited to teach his son how to play the game, and quickly learned his son could out drive him. Billie thoroughly enjoyed many years and special moments on the golf course with Billie Jr.In addition to baseball and golf he also enjoyed many family vacations with his family and in-laws. He has traveled to Paris, Canada, Mexico, and throughout the USA. If asked what his favorite vacation destination was, he would always say the beaches in NJ, MD or NC that included endless time with his wife, son and extended families.His warm, soft nature would sometimes disappear over a game of Yahtzee or Mexican Train Dominos. He wanted to win and was not embarrassed to say so. He celebrated every victory with exuberance, arms stretched in the air and dancing happily. These celebrations were the best part of the night!Billie would be described as a “soft” soul – gentle, kind, fiercely loyal and a true Family Man. Billie had a certain way of lighting up a room and made everyone around him feel special. He loved God, his family, his extended family, his friends, his baseball family, and his church family. Billie left a lasting impression on the people he encountered. Billie will be sorely missed, but we find comfort in knowing he is in paradise dancing with Jesus.In lieu of flowers, you are welcome to make a memorial contribution to the Valley point Church Christmas Initiative.
