Barbara Ann Houck (nee Comisiak), age 87, of Abington PA, and formerly of Wallingford PA, passed away in her sleep on November 9, 2022.

Barbara grew up in Chester, PA, in a tightly knit neighborhood with aunts, uncles, and cousins around the corner, and maintained a lifelong closeness with her cousin, Regina Studzinski as they walked to St. Hedwig’s Elementary School together. After graduating from Chester High School, Barbara trained at Goldey-Beacom College in Wilmington, DE, and applied her skills for many years as an Executive Secretary at Sun Oil, the Sun Valley School District, Boeing, and The Franklin Mint.

At age 20, Barbara married Charles H. Houck, Jr., in a marriage that lasted 66 years until Charlie’s death in 2021. When her boys were young, Barbara loved to spend the summer months with them boating on the Chesapeake Bay. Later, Barbara made sure her grandchildren had a fun time at her home in Wallingford and spent many hours with them at Chuckie Cheese.

Along with her husband Charlie, Barbara was a longtime member of St. John Chrysostom Catholic Church in Wallingford, PA and enjoyed an active social life as members of the Knights of Columbus De La Salle Council in Springfield, PA.

Barbara was the daughter of Eunice Comisiak and Lawrence Michael Comisiak, of Chester, PA. Barbara is survived by her sons Charles H. Houck, III (Karen), and Michael L. Houck (Trish), along with grandchildren Alexander C. Houck, Melissa Przemieniecki (Matthew), Nicole M. Houck-Venable (Sean), Michael L. Houck Jr, Lara M. Houck, and Katharine A. Houck, and great-grandchildren Cooper Venable and Emma and Nico Przemieniecki.

Family and friends are invited to her Funeral Service on Wednesday, November 16, at the Danjolell-Barone Memorial Home, 908 S. Providence Rd., Wallingford, PA. The viewing begins at 10am, with the Service to follow at 11am.
