MESSINAAntonio, “Anthony”, age 58 on March 20, 2022 of Phila., PA.Survived by his siblings Michele Jr. (Susan), and Joseph (Rosamaria), and his nieces & nephews: Katherine Hanna (Brandon), Michael III, Elizabeth, Victoria, Gabriella and Joseph Jr. and his Grand nephew Charles.Anthony grew up in St. Donato’s Parish in West Philadelphia where he attended grade school graduating in 1977. During his high school years, he attended both Saint Joseph’s Prep and Mogadore High School where he became the school’s Wildcat mascot. After graduating in 1981, he attended Temple University where he received both a bachelor’s degree in communications and a master’s degree in social work. Upon graduation, he worked as a probation officer for several years. He then moved on to become a social worker and mental health advocate. Later in life, he volunteered his time and his diverse language skills (he spoke Italian, French, and Spanish) helping travelers while serving as a concierge at the 30th Street Station.Anthony was an avid painter and shared his artwork with others. He also loved animals of all types, caring for them throughout his life. Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation Sunday Evening March 27th; 4-6 p.m. at the D’Anjolell Memorial Home of Broomall 2811 West Chester Pike, PA, 19008 and Monday Morning 9:00-10:15 a.m. followed by his Funeral Mass Monday Morning 11:00 a.m. at Annunciation B.V.M. 401 Brookline Rd., Havertown, PA 19083. Interment S.S. Peter & Paul Cemetery.In lieu of flowers contributions in Anthony’s memory may be made tohttps://thearttherapyproject.org/.
