


































































Torriero1935~2022Anthony (Tony) “Sonny” Joseph Torriero Sr. was born to the late Frank and Elizabeth Torriero, in Philadelphia, PA on February 25, 1935 and passed away on March 27, 2022. He was the second oldest of his four late siblings Anita Mellick, Francis Torriero and Elizabeth Guerri.He is survived by his wife Jane Torriero of 41 years, children Anthony Torriero Jr., Deanna (Scott) Effinger, Marc (Mimi) Torriero, Anthony and Barbara Scarcelle and Michael and Crickett Scarcelle. Anthony is also survived by 11 grandchildren.Tony, grew up with strong roots from a working class family which signifies the type of person he was, simply put a fighter, passionate and to never give up. Those values he has carried with him throughout his life and has passed along to everyone he has encountered. Tony graduated from Lower Merion High School in 1953, was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the Army, dreamed of owning his own business and living the American dream which he did for over 35 years for Exxon at Thornbury Service Center Inc., in West Chester, Pa and enjoyed his hobbies; hunting, fishing, carpentry, playing poker and going to baseball and football games. He also loved his history and talking about his love for baseball and the history of the game and watching his westerns featuring John Wayne and Clint Eastwood.What Tony enjoyed and loved the most was being around his family and his fur pal Jester; nothing brought a bigger smile to his face then just being present with everyone especially his grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation Thursday April 14, 2022 from 10-11:45AM followed by a funeral service at 12Noon in the main chapel of the Danjolell Memorial Home 2811 West Chester Pike, Broomall, Pa. 19008. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Veterans Affairs and the American Cancer Society.
