Angelina “Angie” / “Nanny”, (nee Sanitate) age 80, on November 19, 2022 of Havertown, PA and formerly of West and South Philadelphia, beloved Mother, Nanny, Sister and Friend died after a long battle of Lung Disease.
Predeceased by her parents Peter and Carmela Sanitate, her brothers Gabriel, Matthew, Peter and her sister Adeline Fusco.
Survived by her children, Anthony Jr. (Angela) and Patricia Clark (John), and the three loves of her life, her grandsons,
Anthony III, Alessandro, and Angelo. Also, her youngest sister Jeanette Wieleba (Andy) and all of the kids over the years that she met thru her grandsons who called her Nanny.
The daughter of Italian immigrants and one of six children, Angie was born in West Philadelphia but grew up between West and South Philadelphia. She attended St Mary Magdeline de’ Pazzi and Our lady of the Rosary grade schools and graduated from St Maria Goretti High School in 1960. As a young girl she sold shopping bags at the Italian Market and then as an adult spent many years as a banquet waitress in South Philadelphia, and in the Food and Retail business in the Overbrook section of Philadelphia. She worked nights and weekends and then spent her days raising her children. Angie lived for her children and grandchildren, everything she ever did was for them, always sacrificing her own needs to ensure they were being taken care of, even up until the last day of her life. She was a devout Catholic who prayed the Rosary every single day of her life and had the strongest faith we have ever found in anyone. She had a beautiful heart and soul and she will be terribly missed.
Although she left this earth two months prior to her 81st birthday on January 14, 2023 if you asked her how old she was she would have said, “I’m in my 82nd year”.
“When the evening shadows fall, and the lovely day is through Then with longing I recall the years I spent with you Mamma solo per te la mia canzone vola Mamma sarai con me tu non sarai più sola Quanto ti voglio bene Queste parole d’amore Che ti sospira il mio cuore Forse non si usano più Ah mamma, Ma la canzone mia più bella sei tu Sei tu la vita e per la vita non ti lascio mai più Safe in the glow of your love, Sent from the heavens above Nothing can ever replace, the warmth of your tender embrace Oh, mamma, until the day that we’re together once more I’ll live in these memories, until the day that we’re together once more” – Connie Francis
Relatives & friends are invited to her Funeral Mass and a celebration of life on Saturday, January 14th; 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Manoa 105 Wilson Ave, Havertown, PA 19083. Inurnment Private.
