Alexander Gerard Panfile

Alexander Gerard Panfile loved life and could not wait for his life to begin. He arrived early on June 1st, 1984 and left early to return to his heavenly home on July 9th, 2020. Alex was the beloved and adored son of John F. Panfile and Christine Kurek Panfile. He is preceded in his death by his dad, John F. Panfile, loving grandparents Peter and Josephine Kurek and Frank and Helen Panfile, his godfather Dennis Kurek, Sr. and Maryanne Kurek, and cousins Dina Shaffer and Cathy Barrett. He was proud of his Italian and Polish heritage and was fortunate to tour great cities in Italy. The history of Poland and the strength of its people inspired him. His Pop Pop Pete regaled him with his tales of WWII thus instilling in him a passion for history. Alex was a lifelong resident of Linwood, PA. After graduating from Cardinal O’Hara High in 1992, he continued his education at Penn State University. He was employed in business development in the tech industry and assumed the management role of John Francis Hair Design after the passing of his dad. He believed in a sound body and a sound mind, he had a commitment to physical fitness and encouraged others. When asked, he was happy to formulate a personalized routine. He was a fun loving and humble man, always a help in time of need. His generosity to others prevailed, even in death, he shared himself by being an organ donor. We will all remember Alex for his intellect, sense of humor and always speaking his mind. If you met him, you would never forget him. Alex’s passion was for Mental Health Awareness. He had great respect for Brandon Marshall, former NFL wide receiver, who had championed the treatment for his mental illness. Brandon founded Project 375 to raise funding for the awareness and the stigma of this disease. Alex was also an advocate for the Well Being of Children and Animal Rights.Even though Alex was an only child, he was inseparable with cousins Elisabeth, Peter, and David, and enjoyed great times with cousins Denny, Brian, and Tommy. Zach Gniewoz was a very special friend to Alex, he was Zach’s best man in his wedding and the godfather to his son. Alex was blessed with a special “Band of Brothers” formed by friendships made of strength, love and patience. He is survived by his loving and dedicated mom, Christine Kurek Panfile and Mrs. Jane Bush who was lovingly called Grandmom III by Alex. He left behind his dog, Bailey and cat Zarana, they brought much joy and happiness to him. He is also survived by the relatives of the Panfile and Kurek families. Alex- I will forever bask in the loving memories we shared over 36 years. May your journey forward be enriched by the magnificent souls who have passed before you, just as you have done here for those you leave behind. I am so blessed that you were a child of mine.
