John C. Ford

John Cyril Ford, age 102 years, passed away peacefully on Sept. 18, 2022. John was an Aston resident and a member of St. Joseph Parish for over 60 years.

Born in Mount Carmel, Pa, John graduated from Mount Carmel Catholic High School. He moved to Chester in 1943 and served as a seaman in the US Navy during World War II. Following the war, he began working in the machine shop at BP Oil where he was employed for 34 years.

John was an avid sports fan and volunteered as an umpire for the Aston Valley Baseball league, the Aston Middletown Little League, and for leagues throughout Delaware County.
John always enjoyed a good game of golf and bowled with the local senior league. His 99th birthday celebration was at a local bowling alley.

Over the years, John held various positions with the Aston Seniors organization, as well as the BP Retiree Club.

Husband of the late Josephine Ford, and the late Elizabeth Ford, father of the late John J. Ford.
Loving father of Marie Ford Reilly, Regina McCoy, Martin McKenna, Maureen Melaragno, Michael McKenna. He will be missed by his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, and his nieces and nephews.

Relatives & Friends are invited to his viewing and funeral Saturday, September 24, 9:15am at St. Joseph Church in Aston.
Funeral mass 10 am.
Interment with military honors will be in St. Thomas the Apostle Cemetery.
