Christopher “Chris” E. Blake

BLAKEChristopher E. “Chris”, age 55, on Dec. 4, 2019.Son of the late Marian J. (nee Blankley) and The Honorable Edward J. Sr. and brother of the late Edward J. Jr.Survived by his brother John “Jack” P. Blake, his sister Tracy DeVlieger (Pierre), his nieces Dana and Madeline, his nephew Blake, and many loving cousins.Chris attended the Melmark Meadows Program for 15 years, where he loved horseback riding, playing in the Joybells/ Ringers in Training, and performing with The Melmark Players shows each Christmas and Spring. Chris enjoyed spending his summers “down the shore” and was affectionately nicknamed “the Mayor of Avalon” by friends and family. He was an avid sports fan and life-long follower of all Philadelphia sports teams, especially the Phillies and the Eagles and Big 5 Basketball, and he also loved the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Chris proudly served as a Eucharistic Minister at Our Lady of Lourdes in Overbrook, St. Bernadette’s in Drexel Hill and, for the last several years, at St. Norbert’s Parish in Paoli. In all of these endeavors and in his daily life, strangers quickly became dear friends whom Chris cherished. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends, but his joyful, loving spirit will live on in their hearts and memories. Relatives and Friends are invited to his Viewing Monday Evening, Dec. 16th 6- 8 pm at The D’Anjolell Memorial Home of Broomall 2811 West Chester Pike, 19008 and ALL IN CHURCH Tuesday Morning 10:00 – 10:45 a.m. followed by his Funeral Mass 11:00 a.m. at St. Norbert’s Church 50 Leopard Rd. (Rt. 252) Paoli, PA 19301.
