Sister Mary Franceline Marsh, RSMSister Mary Franceline Marsh (Mary Cecilia Marsh), age 101, died peacefully on Feb. 2, 2018, surrounded by her religious community at McAuley Convent. She is pre-deceased by her brothers James and Leo and sister Bernadette. Sister is survived by her nieces Fran Teti, Michele Marsh, and nephew Jim Marsh; Also survived by her niece Kathleen Marsh, Karen Grasser and Brien Marsh. Relatives and friends are invited to a Visitation Friday, Feb. 16, 6-7 pm, followed by a funeral Mass at 7 pm in the Chapel at the Convent of Mercy, 515 Montgomery Avenue, Merion Station, PA 19066. Burial will be in the Community Cemetery on Saturday, Feb. 17, 9:30 am. Contributions in Sister’s memory may be sent to the Sisters of Mercy Mid-Atlantic Community at the above address. Obituary S. Mary Franceline Marsh RSMSister Mary Franceline Marsh, a member of the Sisters of Mercy Mid-Atlantic Community died on Friday February 2, 2018. The daughter of Harry and Mary Marsh, Sister Mary Franceline was born in a small town called Brookville, near Erie, Pennsylvania. She had three siblings: Jim, Leo, and Bernadette (Dot) all of whom pre-deceased her.Sister taught in elementary schools in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, as well as secondary school in the dioceses of Allentown and Philadelphia. Though small in stature at 4’9″ Sister Mary Franceline was well able to handle any discipline matter that arose at Cardinal Dougherty High School. In 1963 Sister began ministering in the finance office at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital, Darby, Pennsylvania, a ministry she loved for seventeen years. She then began her ministry as a member of the support staff for the Development Office at Merion, Pennsylvania. For over 20 years Sister was responsible for sending acknowledgements to donors, and birthday cards etc. to benefactors. At the age of 93, Sister retired to McAuley Convent in 2010.Sister Mary Franceline will be remembered for her dry sense of humor and winning smile, her passion for service and her long-suffering over these past years. We rejoice that after a faithful and full life Sister Franceline is united with her family and friends whom she loved so dearly. She is survived by her nieces Michele Marsh, Kathleen Marsh, Karen Grasser ,Fran Teti; her nephews Jim Marsh and Brien Marsh, and her Community of the Sisters of Mercy.
