Theodore G. Kauffman, age 89, a retired chemical company executive and Naval Officer died on January 29 2018 at his home in West Brandywine Pa .Mr. Kauffman was associated with Houghton International Inc,, a specialty chemical firm headquartered in Valley Forge Pa. He held various positions over a forty year career, retiring at the end of 1995 as Vice President of Marketing and a member of the company’s Board of Directors.He was a veteran of the Korean War and served as a US Navy officer for five years . His primary service was aboard the USS Princeton CVA-37, an Aircraft Carrier assigned to the Pacific Fleet. He was awarded the Navy Commendation Medal with Combat V along with various other medals. Following his active service he remained active as a reservist and retired from the US Navy with the rank of Commander. A native of McVeytown Pa, Mr. Kauffman graduated from Juniata College with a degree in chemistry. He is survived by his daughter Lynda Ortlip, grandson, Michael S. Ortlip of Perryopolis Pa. His sisters, Joyce Bristow, Doris M. Lower, Susan Fisher and brother, Donald Kauffman. Memorial service will be held at Freedom Village at Brandywine, 15 Freedom Blvd.,West Brandywine Pa. 19320 on February 24th at 11 am.
